Digital Ceramics
Date: May 2019 - Current
Materials: 3D Printed Nylon, Silicone, Ceramic Porcelain
Part of a larger body of queer ceramic work, the project explores digital fabrication methods with traditional craft. Some work has been done with custom made ceramic 3D printers which can be an unreliable process. The project has been refocused to utilize plastic 3D printed molds and traditional ceramic slip casting methods.
The forms of this current work are inspired by ceramic and stone crafts representing human forms. Ceramics and crafts have always been methods for recording history. How would the representation of the contemporary human take form?
